Carter Glass House is a historic home located at Lynchburg, Virginia. It was built in 1827, and is a 2 1/2-story, almost square, red brick dwelling. It sits on a raised basement and has a shallow slate covered hipped roof. The front facade features a one-bay wide, wood-floored, Ionic order portico supported by four columns and two pilasters. It was a home of Virginia congressman and senator Carter Glass who was influential in establishing the fiscal policy of the United States. Glass purchased the dwelling in 1907, and modernized and enlarged it.
